Carol Ruffolo

President

Carol is a senior, majoring in German K-12 Education with a minor in Political Science. What Carol loves most about being in Tri Sigma is that she has been given so many opportunities. She has had the honor to work on her leadership skills while being in Tri Sigma due to the leadership opportunities we offer within our sorority. She also has had the opportunity to meet so many different people. She has found her best friends in Tri Sigma and she could not be more thankful. As President of our chapter, her responsibilities are to represent our chapter at a variety of events, including national events. It is also her job to evaluate the status of our chapter and make decisions accordingly. Being President also gets the privilege of being well respected by the entire chapter as she helps to lead the chapter towards success by having the opportunity to work with each of the members. Carol has been a member of Tri Sigma since 2017. Besides being a part of Tri Sigma, Carol is a member of Kappa Delta Pi, which is the Honors Society for Education Majors and Pi Sigma Alpha which is the Honors Society for the Political Science Department.

Alanna Courtright

Membership Recruitment Director

Alanna is a sophomore, majoring in English with a minor in Theatre. Her favorite part about being in Tri Sigma is finding her home away from home. Alanna is very thankful for the daily encouragement she receives from her sisters to strive to always do her best, along with the bonding that comes along with sisterhood. As Membership Recruitment Director, her responsibilities are to recruit new members showing them what it is like to be a part of Greek life and all the fun ways to get involved within Tri Sigma. Alanna is also responsible for helping to plan formal and informal recruitment, promoting Tri Sigma on social media, and planning Bid Day, which is one of her favorite days of the year. Not only does Alanna love recruiting new members, she also enjoys getting to know a variety of people from different backgrounds and interests. Alanna has been a member of Tri Sigma since 2019. Outside of Tri Sigma, she is actively involved with other organizations on Oakland University’s campus. Alanna is an active member of the International Music Fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota, a member of the English Honors Society, Sigma Tau Delta, and is also a member of the National Honor Society, Alpha Lambda Delta, as well as the Honors College.

Brittany Kearfott

Vice President of Operations

Brittany is a senior, majoring in Communication with dual minors in Advertising and Digital Media Production. What Brittany loves most about being in Sigma is that Sigma has allowed her so many opportunities in design in order to be able to build her portfolio, leadership, and education. Without Tri Sigma, she would not have the connections that she has for education or networking. She also has found some amazing people and friends along the way. She has completed what some like to call “the sorority experience circle of life”, by finding part of her bridal party from the friends that she has made in Sigma. As Vice President of Operations (VPO), Brittany is responsible for organizing behind the scenes. Her duties include putting events on the calendar, communicating with the other chapters to congratulate them on their establishment anniversaries, and etc. In addition to these responsibilities, Brittany also keeps OmegaOne updated and organized as well as keeping up on accreditation submissions. Brittany has been a member of Tri Sigma since 2019. Besides being a part of Tri Sigma, Brittany also holds an associates in American Sign Language Interpreting and is fluent in ASL and conversational in Portuguese. Outside of Sigma, she is also involved in the Meadowbrook Ball Committee, and is the Vice President of the American Sign Language Club. In her free time, Brittany loves going on adventures and traveling with friends, her two dogs and her fiancé, and family.

Jill Dein

Vice President of New Member Education

Jill is a sophomore, majoring in Psychology with a minor in English. Her favorite thing about Sigma Sigma Sigma is the sense of sisterhood. She has met her best friends in Sigma and has formed countless meaningful connections. As Vice President of New Member Education, she teaches each new member about Sigma and also why she personally loves her chapter. In addition, she keeps new members up to date in chapter activities and creates lesson plans for best learning efficiency. Previously, Jill was the philanthropy chair for her chapter and she recalls it as a fulfilling experience that opened her eyes to more opportunities. Jill has been a member of Tri Sigma since 2019. Outside of Tri Sigma, Jill is involved in the Meadowbrook Ball Committee and in the Ski/Snowboard Club at Oakland University. Jill loves to travel with discovering new places, to read plenty of books and she loves her family.

Janae Nelson

Treasurer

Janae is a junior, majoring in Public Administration and Public Policy with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. After graduation, Janae intends to pursue a masters degree in the same field. What Janae loves the most about Tri Sigma is the sisterhood that our sorority brings, which has led her to finding her closest friends through greek life. As a member of the executive council and as treasurer, Janae has gained valuable insight for both her major and the inner-workings of an organization. As treasurer of our sorority, Janae’s main responsibility is to introduce a budget each year to the chapter and manage it throughout the entire year. Janae has had the pleasure of being the treasurer for the Theta Theta chapter of Tri Sigma for two terms now and has been a member of Tri Sigma since 2018.

Allyssa Farley

Education Director

Allyssa is a sophomore, majoring in Psychology with a minor in Communications. Her favorite part of being a Sigma is getting to meet all of her amazing sisters and finding her lifelong friends! As Education Director, her responsibilities are to help our members through their academic needs and any struggles they might face. She also helps guide them to resources to benefit them and is also a person they are encouraged to go to, even if it is just to talk. Allyssa also keeps the chapter updated on any upcoming leadership opportunities and advocates for anyone who feels their voice may go unheard. Allyssa has been a member of Tri Sigma since 2019. Besides being a part of Tri Sigma, Allyssa advocates her time volunteering and working with kids. She is very involved with multiple organizations on campus from being a member of Oakland University’s Glee Club, to working through the Dean of Students Office and Disability Support Services, to volunteering through Alternative Spring Break, to being a part of honors societies such as the National Honors Society, Alpha Lambda Delta and the Psychology Honors Society, Psi Chi.

Marissa Taszreak

Panhellenic Delegate

Marissa is a Junior and she is majoring in Nursing. Her favorite part about being in Sigma is all of the people she has met and all of the close friendships she has formed since joining. Marissa has been a member of Tri Sigma since 2019. As Panhellenic Delegate her responsibilities include attending Panhel meetings as well as being Sigma’s voice within the Panhel community. She communicates with the chapter about what is going on in the Panhel community and shares with the other sororities on campus what Tri Sigma has going on. She loves talking with the other chapters at Oakland as well as getting to know our Panhel sisters! Outside of Sigma, she is a member of Alpha Lambda Delta honor society, she loves to hang out with her friends, working with children, and traveling.

Paige Thelen

Vice President of Harm Reduction

Paige is a junior, majoring in Operations Management and Spanish. Her favorite part about being in Tri Sigma is meeting all of her sisters while growing as an individual. As Vice President of Harm Reduction, Paige ensures the safety of the chapter by planning ahead and thinking of all possible outcomes before they happen. By asking the hard questions and presenting information to the chapter, she helps all our sisters stay healthy and safe. Paige is also a member of the Society of Operations Management, Delight Ministry, and the Honors College.
